Their story

Marriage-based concurrent AOS, US citizen spouse. Entered on F-1 and was on STEM OPT at the time of filing, no overstay or unauthorized work. Hired an immigration attorney but did not bring them to the interview. Uploaded all supplemental evidence to the USCIS portal a few days before the interview, so the officer had already reviewed it. Officer said she could approve the I-130 herself on the spot, but the I-485 needed supervisor sign-off, which came the next day.

Their advice

Upload supplemental evidence to the USCIS portal a few days before the interview so the officer can review it ahead of time - it can speed things up since they may not need to re-check documents in person.
