Their story

US citizen spouse filing for husband, concurrent I-130/I-485/I-765/I-131 filing with NBC. Immigrant spouse entered on a B2 tourist visa, overstayed, and had some unauthorized work history. Because of the overstay and unauthorized work, the officer conducted a Stokes interview, separating the couple for about 40 minutes each. Total time from USCIS receipt to approval was 314 days. I-130 was approved first, with I-485 following about 7 minutes later the same afternoon.

Their advice

Be honest and consistent, even about the overstay and unauthorized work - those are legally forgiven upon approval for immediate relatives of a US citizen, so never lie about them. Stay calm and go over your daily routine together beforehand.
